Brick Ad bots in intro forum
This is becoming ridiculous. This is the third time this month that the same bot has registered a new account. I think Aaron needs to revamp security in the registrations.

RE: Ad bots in intro forum
The best I can do without Bishop installing a new plugin is mess with the ones that are already installed... I've been trying what I can, though. I've been banning the IPs of all of the bots that have been registering.

I'll take a look at the CAPTCHA plugins we've got and see if I can do anything about it.

Edit: Yeah, there's pretty much nothing I can mess with. reCAPTCHA only has like 3 settings I can mess with... >.>

Well, thanks for trying. This was actually meant for Bishop anyways. Doubt he'll see it, though.

(I do that all the time too Wink )

I've also been banning the bots where I can and cleaning up what I can.

RE: Ad bots in intro forum
I don't mind these bots. Anyway, I expect total forum sweep in some time after next -solid- release, to welcome new users.

RE: Ad bots in intro forum
Eh, I was just miffed about seeing 3 new intros, and ALL of them being the same not. Also helps start discussions, keeping the forum somewhat alive.
Maybe Bishop could add a filter for profile links, auto-banning anyone who claims that phone company as their personal website...

RE: Ad bots in intro forum
At least these ones aren't spam bots.
Maybe just change the link that these are using to nyan cat or rickroll.

RE: Ad bots in intro forum
I just delete the post and ban the account/IP

Most of them have been from Taiwan... I COULD just ban Taiwan from the forum, but that would be rude for the 2 people who may eventually want to use the forum in Taiwan.
