New liquids
As a list of things I THINK would be cool, here's some suggestions:
-Oil
-Lava(Obviously)
-Quik Sand (Misspelled for lols)

Mining games almost never use oil, but it would be nice to have a flammable substance you could set ablaze.
"Quik" sand could be material made by mixing oil with sand, making you move not-so-quik, or just be a more discreet oil-burn trap.

Ideas....go!

Forever vigilent.

RE: New liquids
Well I can definitely see these being useful in the game (since the game is meant to be somewhat like a RTS when it is done. Oil Traps and Quik Sand sound like they would be an interesting strategy to use, and oil could also be useful for other things (building/repairing machines, etc).

I see this kind of stuff making it into the game pretty easily, but the main focus at the moment should, of course, be finishing the main aspects of the game. Tongue

RE: New liquids
Oil sand is actually used in metal casting industry to make molds, they call it petrobond... A bit different oil, though, if I remember correct. Just, mmmmh... *drools on possibilities*

RE: New liquids
Sand and oil? This sounds awsome, but then I have found this jewel on wikipedia:

"They built copper and iron shields, put sand into them, and heated them over hot fire so the sand became red-hot. By means of some mechanism they threw this sand at those who had fought bravest and subjected their victims to most severe suffering. The sand penetrated through the armour into the shirts, burned the body, and it could not be helped [...] they died, going mad with horrible pain, in sufferings piteous and unquenchable.”
—Diodorus Siculus, on the 4th century BC Siege of Tyre

So simple, so horrible. Humans are great.

He did say "new" liquids... Water is already in the game, it just doesn't spawn in the current version.
