CraftStudio
Wished Minecraft was a little more of a sandbox, and less of a lego box?

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/03/...aftstudio/

CraftStudio is aiming to do just that. It is a crowdsourced project, so it is on IndieGoGo(you need to be a US resident for Kickstarter, and this gentleman is from France)

http://www.indiegogo.com/CraftStudio?a=506050

Here is the main site, and its free to try. Please note there is a bit of a slight learning curve, but as the days go by more and more tutorials are popping up. Here is the site where the current Alpha version is free.

Cheers everyone, and let the indie games continue to improve and go above and beyond what these so called AAA studios can bring to the table.

Looks interesting. I'll keep an eye on it.

Awesome, he's trying to make gamecreating more than just programming... And he'll let us sell it for ourselves at no cost :o he's generous.

RE: CraftStudio
I hope this doesn't demean the value of programming. Hopefully it can be some people's entry point to it.

RE: CraftStudio
I doubt that the ability to build games from ALL blocks will remove all programming from existence Tongue Plus I doubt it can present a lot of amazingly original new gameplay styles that some games bring ^_^

You'd be amazed with what people do with very simple tools.

It's nice that stuff like this makes things accessible though. Personally I have trouble getting my foot in the door with programming. :V

RE: CraftStudio
It's very very like Blender. But my head wasn't in it, so I took a 5 second look at the pre-alpha trial, I'll try again later or something lol.
