I don't think there will be a wood 'block'. Only terrain blocks interact directly with other terrain. It may be possible as this goes on that there's a mesh based building system, but it's not in the cards at the moment. So the good news is, wood will never carbon bond itself to the terrain.

Yes some wood which have hard in nature those are not good for the domestic use as well as some have soft in nature that wood is conceivable for the domestic use and other purpose like the furniture etc..

Maybe you could be able to make them into boards that could look like actual planks/floorboards, but raw logs should be set up to look like something from a log cabin (horizontally stacked logs) when placed.
