In the unofficial mod department, you can modify one of the picks to have a very low radius.

On a more official note, something similar to a chisel is likely to come in the future.

and yeah, I also noticed that the copper pickaxe chops a smaller hole, although no at all in stone

My guess is that this is the start of different tires of tools, copper being the weakest.

There's two things that intersect with the smaller pickaxe given by default. It's made from copper, so it can't break stone. It's also small, so has a smaller radius.

alright, time fore some more screenshots =3

getting the foundation and slowly setting up the walls and leaving holes for door and windows.

EDIT: added stairs and a balcony/second level floor
