Pokemon Style Backpack Pockets
I mentioned this briefly to Jaguar, and I wanted to see what you all think. For organizational purposes, I think there should be pokemon style pockets for different item groups like, nuggets, building materials, furniture, etc. And then at the bottom would be a crafting area where you can put items from any pocket, and they would stay there no matter what pocket you go into. That way you can craft things together from different pockets.

I like the idea. When I play games that allows you to collect things, my OCD kicks in hard.

Who's going to classify all existing items? And what happens if someone invents an item that doesn't fit into current classification?

Secret's out. Cool

Misc catagory? And you would classify them as you create them.

Well, I'm not a programmer so I don't know exactly how it would work, but couldn't someone who is modding the game add a tag to their item and add that tag to the list of items that go into certain pockets? And as far as modding goes, if someone really wanted to mod something that doesn't fit into a classification, couldn't they make a new classification and add a new pocket?

As for who makes the classifications, I guess that would have to be worked out. I could certainly help. And for new items that we make we would just add a few lines of code to add a tag, right? Again, I'm not a programmer, so I have no idea how much work would go into things like this.

Or there could be a "mod" category, for items not in the default game.

The vanilla items would be easy, the category's would be; tools, blocks, placable(like the furnace), misc, and mod. It could all change as there is more stuff added, Its all subject to change.
