RE: Character Models - Alpha Out On Monday
YOU ARE APPLYING REAL WORLD KNOWLEDGE TO A FICTIONAL WORLD AGAIN.

Here's some real world knowledge for you: That came from Bishop directly.

I had Navy ranks in my head. And the chain on his left side (our right) is a chain that shows he's higher than a postman.

RE: Character Models - Alpha Out On Monday
I am applying a reference to a game that already contains many references.

I think it looks stupid, I don't care who said that, it looks stupid. Their uniform should match their occupation, name me one thing that would be red in the middle of the ocean. The ocean is blue, a ship has white sails. They wear blue and white just like a forest ranger wears green and brown.

How about we make rangers wear pink and yellow? Obviously because it's a video game logic of any kind shouldn't apply and everyone can do whatever the hell they want so why not? What care should anyone have if it makes sense? Nevermind making sense is pretty damn important when your game is targeted at an older audience.

RE: Character Models - Alpha Out On Monday
So the person who says Pirates are better than Ninjas forgets that Pirates are rather often depicted as wearing red (among other non-blue and non-white colors). I believe I just named something that would be red in the middle of the ocean.

Fact is, Admirals have no real reason that the color they wear has to be blue other than to show where they work - the ocean. Rangers wear green/brown as a sort of camoflauge for the forests they are so often in. Admirals don't wear blue to blend in with the ocean... So what if a Dorfen Admiral wants to wear red? Are you that hell-bent on opposing the color that he wears? If you can't come up with a truly sensible reason for this Dorfen Admiral to be wearing blue instead of red, there's really not much point in flaunting your opposition.

I don't think you'll gather much support for an argument over a detail that is, in this instance, rather unimportant. Perhaps we would agree more easily if there was a practical purpose for a blue uniform, but there just isn't one here. Not in my eyes, anyway...

RE: Character Models - Alpha Out On Monday
Admirals should look like admirals, I have never seen an admiral wear red before, and I'm guessing the game's supposed to have a cartoony style, I've never seen an admiral in a cartoon wear red, it's always blue.

However, someone did point out to me that it's only a convention of US admirals to wear blue and British admirals to wear red, it's not so terribly preposterous when someone gave me a real-life reference, and has mostly become a conflict of familiarity; I wouldn't know the character's purpose if I were new to the game, but I'm not from Britain. And while I think the stereotypical British army looks like a complete joke, I guess I have to acknowledge that not everyone is from my country and might not find it so weird.

Jag, I unlocked this thread because it was locked for no good reason.

And Kazekai, I dunno about you, but seldom do I play a game for the first time and know what every NPC does based solely on their attire. o.O Oh well, I guess. May as well move on. xD

YES IT'S ALL BEEN FOCUSED ON LOOKS! Let's play wild speculation!

He says he changed the building system around a bit, this obviously means he's added fully working schematics and other tools that can be used in collaboration with the original styles.

I wonder if he's got working Zombis again Smile
