LoUd Forums: Terraria PVP
General Rules:
-You start with a fresh Medium Core character, starting with only the starting items.
-You get 15 minutes to set up, in this time you can gather resorces, make weapons, armour, potions, any defences you need.
-In the set up you should also set your team and PvP on.
-You cannot change teams to see where opponents are.
-You cannot switch PvP off.
-You cannot edit the base layout, it is like this so that you can spawn there and craft there but NPCs won't spawn.
^ This means place nothing new inside your base, only building outside the coloured walls are allowed.
-You cannot damage the enemy base.
-You cannot move the Gem from the chest, if you pick yours up in game, you must instantly return it to the chest.
-You may only remove the gem from the opponent's chest, all other materials, weapons, etc should be left alone.
-Your team wins when both you and your opponent's gems are in your base's chest.
-PLEASE ensure when time is called you have your base set, your team set and your PVP is on, yelling "TIME OUT"won't work 9 times out of 10.
-When time is up, players will be asked to respond, DO NO DELAY RESPONSE TO GAIN MORE TIME.
-With everyone's response, the battle phase will begin.

Banned:
-NPCs
-Gravity Potions
-Explosives (including Grenades, OP at low level)

second post Wrote:So some interest has been shown in getting together for a big CTG match.
If it goes well I guess we could try to throw more.

One of the big problems is however: Times.
We're in different time zones so trying to get that organized may be a pain, if you could post here general times you'd be free (convert to GMT for me) that'd help matters along.

Utah linked me to this video explaining the set up and game play of CTG for anyone who can't be bothered watching the video I linked (Gabby Tongue) or are still confused.
Obviously our rules can vary.

I'm attempting to make a map atm, Jordan will be helping me once we get his laptop and has expressed some interest in joining the game.

Video:

Utah and I had a go at setting up a map, instant problem: The corruption.
This is when he mentioned an Attack/Defend set up. This could work for another game too I think, we could try setting up a few maps and types ^_^

I have a basic map setup that can be used for it, no corruption or desert in way, bases 630ft from centre and identical (minus colours).

Original Post Wrote:So I'm watching a video on Terraria: Capture The Gem, would anyone be interested in doing a match of that? lol

Looks Medium Core (drop items on death) with brand new characters, there's a mid-point built which neither team can go over in the set-up period, looks pretty cool.

RE: LoUd Forums: Terraria PVP?
That looks like a pretty neat idea, though we DO have flags in Terraria.

RE: LoUd Forums: Terraria PVP?
I'd like to give it a try.

But to be honest, (Not about terraria) Odyssey Gaming is kinda boring. I didn't see the game mode in the video because there's a good chance I skipped over it.

RE: LoUd Forums: Terraria PVP?
I'm no fan of Terraria but I'll play if a friend of mine can play and everyone has Skype.

Erhm, Terraria nerd reporting for duty? I'd love to have a go at it though! As long as it's not too late.
